cut and paste in existing clip

Post by 56belair »

I have a 20 second clip. I want to COPY from 7 seconds to 13 seconds from the clip. I want to paste that section just after the 13 second mark.

Basically I want to show seconds 7 - 13 twice.

Cut the clip at the 7 second mark. Right click the new second part of the video and select Copy. Then Paste it at the 13 second mark i.e. at the end of the second clip. And don't worry. The first cut will not be visible in the final rendered video unless you insert a transition over it.

Since it is a 20 sec clip, you will need two cuts: one at 7 secs and another at 13 secs. Now switch to the Storyline and you should see 3 thumbnails. Since the middle one (from 7 to 13 secs) is the one you want to duplicate, select it, press CTRL-C to copy it and the select the 3rd clip and press CTRL-V. The 7 to 13 sec clip should now show twice.

I finished it. Thanks for the response.

Is x7 much of a jump from x5?
