VideoStudio X7 ultimate sticks rendering for bluray

Post by elal_video »

hi!
I´m new at this board and I have a severe problem. I cannot create a bluray with my hd camcorder videos (sony). videostudio always sticks at 91 percent of an 1 hour movie. adjusting hardware settings hardware encoding/decoding doesn´t change anything. graphics driver and win 8.1 are up to date... we are desperate. the movie properties are (just for example because I do not know at which scene is the problem occur ):

*.mts
PAL HDMV
H.264 Video Oberes Halbbild zuerst
24 bit, 1920*1080
frame rate 25 fps
bit rate var. max 160000
sound dolby digital 48000 khz, 5.1, bitrate 448 kbps

can anyone help us, please?

thanks

Are you trying to burn an actual Blu-Ray disc or are you just trying to create a Blu-Ray mpeg-2 to burn to disc? If you are trying to burn a disc, you can avoid wasting discs by choosing "Burn Blu-Ray Folder" on the final page of the burning module and un-tick the box beside Create Disc. That way, a BDMV folder will be created which is identical to what would be on a Blu-Ray disc. And if you find it works 100%, you can burn the folder to an actual disc using third party software such as Nero or the freeware ImgBurn.

But taking a step back, while you are still in the Editing module, do you first convert your project to a single new AVCHD file which you later insert into the burning module, or do you jump straight into burning the project to disc? If you do this, it is the project file which appears in the burning module. Also, when the burning process starts, you should get a small dialogue box. I don't know what it might say in German, but it will probably say something like "Converting title".

But since you are having a problem, it might be better to finish your editing and then convert the project to a single new Blu-Ray compatible file. This could be either AVCHD with the Properties you give, since AVCHD with those properties is Blu-Ray compatible. Or you could convert the project to Blu-Ray compatible mpeg-2. Then, when the new video is created, you go to Share and select Blu-Ray. The burning module should then open. If there is anything in the timeline, delete it, then click on the top left icon "Add Video Files" and insert your new video. Click also on the second icon in the bottom left of the burning screen "Project Settings", and make sure the box beside "Do not convert compliant MPEG files" is ticked. That way, if you have created a new AVCHD video of your project, the program will not try to convert it to the mpeg-2 Blu-Ray format set-out above that 'Do not convert' box.

If you still have a problem with all this, then you will need to look closely at your project to see what might be around 91% which could be causing a problem. Maybe a filter or transition which is not working correctly? Or maybe something wrong with a video clip around that point.

thanks for your effort!
but I do not get further. originally I wanted to create bluray discs by using projects. now I tried to produce at first avchd videos out of the projects. I also tried the mpeg-2 export. but the result is the same. the rendering freezes at an special part of the edited movie.
for me it´s not possible to find the part that causes the problem. lots of short scenes. is it possible that an installation of the tryout version of cyberlink powerdirector causes problems?
creating mp4 files is possible, but I want to make blurays...
any other idea?
thanks

I don't think there would be any conflict with Cyberlink. I have that, plus some other video editing programs, all on one computer with no problems with any of them.

However, can you please clarify. Do you get the freeze even when NOT trying to burn a disc, but also when you are first trying to convert the project to a new video file (either AVCHD or Blu-Ray mpeg-2)? If that is the case, then I really can't think of anything else you can try except the very laborious task of going the the approximate part of the project where the problem is occurring and removing or changing filters and transitions one by one and then trying to render again each time...
