Hi Everyone,
This is my first post on this board and I'd really appreciate some help.
I have the Videostudio Pro x4 and I am not sure whether it is the 32 bit version or the 64 bit version... my computer is 64 bit. I am not sure whether this information matters but I thought I'd just put this across. I also don't know how to check whether the software is 64 bit or 32 bit because I don't have the CD on me and I didn't install the software (my bro did).
I tried to render a 5 minute long video - the video was made up of clips in MTS format from my handycam and this 5 minute long video took 75 minutes to render.
Is this normal? Or is it because this is the first time I was using the software? The files were not that large and the final output file in WMV 720p format was only 515 MB large.
Is there something that I am doing wrong or is there a better and faster way to render these files? 75 minute for a 5 minute long clip is WAY too long, right?
Can anyone please help me?

Easy bit first - your version of VideoStudio X4 is 32 bit - because there is only 32bit available for X4, X5 and X6 - X7 is the first version to offer the 64 bit alternative.
It should not be taking 75 minutes to render a 5 minute clip - perhaps you could tell us a little moe about what you have in the timeline - RIGHT click on one of the clips in the timeline and choose 'properties' - take a screen shot of the properties box and post it up with your next point - then tell us exactly what you are rendering to - I note it's to .wmv but can we have the rest of the render setting [please.

I just deleted all the raw video files....Give me 24 hours and I will make another video. I'm using this for my workout videos. The video I made is out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3YIdxkpYu4
I have a question, Brian:
I will take the screenshot with the property box, however, I am confued: when you say
What do you mean? As in what should I be telling you? I have the program open in front of me. Here's what I chose when I wanted to publish/share/render the movie:BrianCee wrote:then tell us exactly what you are rendering to - I note it's to .wmv but can we have the rest of the render setting
Share -> Create Video File -> WMV -> WMV HD 720p 30p
Is this what you wanted to know?

Hi
Rendering your clips to the same properties, MTS to MTS will be faster than rendering MTS to WMV
Why do you want Wmv files.
With your clips in the timeline, right click and choose properties what are they?
Assuming one of your MTS is the first clip in the timeline, Share – Create Video File -- Same as First Clip will render using the clips properties. View the Properties panel on the Create Video Files window to see the render properties.
That’s assuming Same as First Clip is available.
Try that and tell us how long the render took.

Re: Videostudio Pro x4 How to Render Quickly
I took a screenshot of the properties.
I usually have a slide that I place at the beginning of the video (sometimes more than one slide). I will try to export as MTS itself next time.
I have attached that screenshot of the properties of the file.
I just made a 4 minute long video which took 50+ minutes to render.
Please please help.

I am not sure but perhaps the properties screenshot is blurry... I'm gonna go ahead and post another cropped version vs. a shrunken version of the file:

Re: Videostudio Pro x4 How to Render Quickly
I tried doing that. It was rendering VERY quickly...then all of a sudden @20% completion I get this error message: (check attachment)lata wrote:Hi

I was getting this error message before as well however it happened at the end of the rendering, then Corel would shutdown and when I went to the output folder I'd have the clip all fine and dandy. So I never paid attention to it.
EDIT: a google search got a hit on this forum and apparently I have to download and install DirectX? Is this true? the last update to the thread was in '09 that is why I ask.
EDIT: Sorry to hound y'all but I googled the problem and I got this link: http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... dio-Pro-X4
I followed the steps in that article and I am still getting the error. Should I make a new thread regarding this?

Re: Videostudio Pro x4 How to Render Quickly
Hi
Having a problem that causes the program to close is probably also causing the longer render times.
The DMP file is no good to us as we cannot read those files, only Corel can open those. Video Studio X4 is no longer fully supported by Corel so unless you pay for support they would not accept the DMP file.
The crashes could be caused by practically anything from a corrupt video file, something in the timeline causing a conflict. The properties you provide do seem bog standard MTS video so I would not have thought those to be the problem?
Have you updated the program by installing Service Packs?
Have you re-installed the program, doing a clean re-install.
You could try Direct X, download from here
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=8109
Run to extract the files content, save to a folder on desktop
Then rum SETUP.exe
