Duotones

Post by raven4ns »

Is it possible to create Duotones with PSP X6? When I used PS CS2 I was able to create a selenium tone which enriched the greys and blacks by adding a slight purplish tone to the image. I was able to adjust the amount of tone using either curves or levels which gave you a fine level of control.
I would like to do the same thing with X6 if possible so anyone with a great deal of knowledge about PSP please advise me. Thank you.

Yes, and at the time I was hoping to be able to use curves or levels to adjust the duotone or quadtones but could not. I have Topaz B&W and couldn't do it with that either. The only way I could do it was through PS CS2, in the meantime I was hoping there might have been some changes to allow it to be done in PSP X6 or the updated Topaz B&W filter so I was asking the question again.

Why not use Quad Tone under Finishing Touches in Topaz B&W? There are four colors that you have control over and can change to suit your image.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

Hi Kathy,
I tried using PS using the channels but I got so frustrated that I gave up. It was after that I accidently came across the presets in PS. I played with the curves chart and found that I could get the general look I wanted then I used levels to fine tune it. That method was the easiest to use for me at least and it was shortly after that my computer had a hissy-fit and I had to buy a new computer but had lost all my images and data. My son and I thought we had backed everything up but it was only a partial b/u. When he changed jobs I lost my access to PS and as this is a hobby I couldn't justify the expense of buying PS.
I've tried using channels but I could never get the hang of getting the right recipe so it looked the way I wanted. I struggle with colors it seems even color images which perhaps explains why I enjoy B&W so much....lol.
