Corel Vido X7 How to use a text document in film

Post by Redstone »

Hi there,

I wish to incorporate what is originally a pdf document (containing size 10 text) into my film. I have tried a few different ways but each time the image loses clarity that the text becomes hardly legible.

The document contains a family tree, and I wish to zoom in on names as a person mentions them.

I have tried converting the pdf to jpg, tiff, and also tried screen capture. But each time, the text becomes really unclear once I import it into Corel.

How can I maintain the clarity of the original text?

Any tips would be awesome! Thanks :)

What pixel dimension is the jpg file? Are you creating a HD or standard video?
How did you convert the pdf image to a jpg?

Hi there,

I have chosen 600 dpi as I am creating a HD video. Well my computer allows me to save the pdf as a *jpg, and I adjusted the dpi using the 'settings' option. The converted *jpg looks fine. But as soon as it imported into Corel, it becomes illegible...

Hi

I think Canuck was asking for the pixel dimensions of the jpeg image.

For HD Video uses 16:9 widescreen, the HD pixel size is 1920 x 1080, make sure your project properties are using 1920 x 1080, that should be the minimum size of your image. Double that if you can. If you wish to fill the screen then the image must use 16:9 ratio.
When you insert to Video Studio the image will be displayed as 1920 x 1080, if your image is a little larger then zooming in should retain the detail, a little.

Trying to retain the detail of the text is difficult just by the nature of the text sizes.

You may be best to create a second high quality image of the text area, as you zoom in to the main image do a crossfade to the new text image, or maybe a popup text image.
