Audio Issues

Post by net-engineer »

I am evaluating MF3 and hoping I haven't run into a stumbling block.

All I really want to do is some simple edits to my DVD+RWs that I'm recording on a stand alone recorder. (Basically taking old VHS tapes to DVD). I need to add some titles, cut a few scenes, things like that.

When I go into the Edit DVD option, I get the following error message:
The disc contains AC-3 audio tracks. DVD MovieFactory does not support this audio format. These tracks will be converted to a compatible format.
When I play back my video, there is no sound at all. I'm not really picky about what audio format I get, I don't really care even if its stereo or mono, but I'd like the original audio with the video :)

I know there are limitations in the eval copy with Dolby sound. Is this what I'm seeing here, or is this something different?

TIA!

You are seeing the limitations of the trial version.

There are also 2 versions of DMF3
1. The basic version which does not support AC3
2. The Disk Creator version which supports AC3

So if you decide to purchase, buy the Disk Creator version.

Ok thanks. I thought that might be the problem but I wasn't sure. Appreciate the info!
