Since the latest windows 7 updates i can not run v X5 get the splash screen and it just does nothing have waited and waited nothing happens. I have uninstalled it and then tried to reinstall it but i can not even do that now, I get the agree to terms and conditions click agree box and next but next does nothing. It is now useless, i use this to produce wedding videos, with two in the Que,

Any suggestions?

just tried to install the trial of version X7 that does not work either for me

To repeat lata's question, have you tried a System Restore?

It is in any case a little strange that you can't even get X7 trial to install. You would have to think that there would be quite a few users out there with either X5 or X7 and with those same Windows updates, who are not having any trouble at all. I am one of them...

have done a system restore to saturday, that did not work, uninstalled 5x again tried to install does not work, tried 7 does not work when i click next after agreeing to the terms nothing happens.

It is very odd how all of a sudden it just does not work.

Have you installed any other free software that may have installed malware on your pc.
I cleaned my wifes laptop yesterday a program called "ilivid download Manager" seemed to cause a lot of problems, although not particularly installing VS.

Internet browser may have added toolbars, Browser Protect, Babylon etc
There have been similar problems for some users, unfortunately no definite fix was identified.

It is strange that it is affecting both X5 and X7, so must be something on your pc.

I have attached a clean up file for both X7 and X5, try running those, hopefully will remove any leftover files.

When you re-install the installation files are extracted to the Corel folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel
You may be best deleting these before running the installation just in case the old files are corrupt.

many thanks tried that now.

did not work i have removed everything from my computer to do with corel downloaded the corel 5 again from your site did not work can not click next nothing happens at install.

I have run norton, malwarebytes, regcure, to clean the pc and still it does not install.

I have managed to got it on an old pc for now, but i am gutted i have been using corel video since 2008 and was looking at going to V7 now i am just at a loss, and dont want to say goodbye to corel, but i have little choice.

Hi

Can you create a New User account having admin rights.
Try installing X5 using that account.
If that is successful you should be able to remove the new account.

Have you tried installing in "Safe Mode"?
