Hi
From the final burner window choose to create a Disc Image
This will create an ISO file, and is the same as burning a disc so will test the process.
You can play the ISO using VLC Media player menu and all.
If that works then you can use the Disc Image Burner to burn the ISO to disc.
However it may be the type of disc that is the problem compatibility with your DVD Player.
If the disc plays on the PC but not automatically then it is probably the PC’s Auto Play options that need tweaking.
If you install VCL Player that may fix the Auto Play -- options being set for VLC
By the way what version of Video Studio are you using?

Re: created dvd won't play
I am running X7. Checking the disk image worked for one dvd. But...we let me explain what I am doing. I filmed a local graduation ceremony. I am making copies of the ceremony for each graduate, but only including the parts of the ceremony that is relevant to them. So I have made a master file of the entire ceremony, which is located on my c drive. I them cut out the unnecessary parts and burn a copy. I then go back to the project, and hit the undo button twice to replace the entire ceremony from which I the cut out the parts for the next graduate, burn the next dvd, and then repeat the process. So the DVD worked for the first graduate, but not for the second. I checked the create disk image for the second copy and it asks if I want to overwrite the disk image that is already made. I have been clicking yes, could this be part of the problem?

Re: created dvd won't play
Why don't you rename each ISO file e.g. by including the graduate in question's name...? I personally would also not use the Undo button to get back to the original project. Instead I would close the first cut-back project, then reopen the whole project file anew each time.

Re: created dvd won't play
Hi
Are you able to create two video files, one of the main content and another for the graduate. The latter being a very short video.
Render each to a new Mpeg2 file and you will have two videos that can be burned to one disc, simply changing the graduate file for each burn.
Burning would be much quicker as the main video would only be rendered once.
I don’t know if this is possible but would speed up burning.
Iso file name, you can change that before burning the Disc Image, click the folder icon.

Re: created dvd won't play
I reopened the file in a new project, did my editing, then burned a DVD, changing the iso file name. The created DVD plays automatically in my computer, but still will not play in my DVD player...

Do you mean it does not play automatically on your DVD player or what?

No, I mean it won't recognize the DVD at all. I get a disk error.

Re: created dvd won't play
Hi
It does appear to be a compatibility issue between the disc and your DVD player.
What type of disc are you using?
What is the make and model of your DVD player?
Are you able to play the disc on another player.
Are you able to burn using another disc manufacturer.

Re: created dvd won't play
First I really appreciate all your help and advise. I will try another (HP) DVD brand since I did get two of the disks to work on that brand. So I will see if that helps. I have been using memorex with my most recent attempts.
No on to file structure, forgive my ignorance, but how do I find this out?

Hi
Place a dvd in your pc drive, ignore any Auto Play or close any player.
Start menu – Computer, right click the DVD Drive and choose Open, that should show the files on the disc, you should see a Video_TS folder, the contents are what Graham is asking for.
If there is an Audio_TS folder ignore as it will be empty.

Hi
Those details look ok to me, the vts_01_1 and vts_01_2 are the actual video files,
they use a file extension of “vob” not displayed by your system setup.
But there is no problems there, which takes us back to the DVD Player re Disc compatibility.
You mention using Memorex discs are they DVD –+R or DVD RW the latter are “Re-Writable” discs and do not play on all media players.
Are you able to use another player, maybe a friends DVD Player
