Freezing when adding Video Files

I am unsing Movie Factory to make custom dvds. When I add a video file and it brings open the file folder to select a file, the program slows down a lot or freezes when I click on the file. What is the problem and how can I get around this?

it depends on the type of file you are trying to load. what's the properties? click on the INFO button after selecting the file in the Add Video window.
