screen capture in other format than .wmv?

hello,
May i ask you if i can have screen recording and the file to be other format than .wmv? I am asking because if i have 3-4 hours of screenrecording the result is a file about 2-3 gb and when i tried to import it in timeline a message appeared : this file isnt editable .....e.t.c.

Unfortunately there is no other option for screen capture than .wmv

but you should be able to put that screen capture back into the timeline for editing - all of the free video samples provided with VideoStudio are .wmv files - can you import all of those without problem or do they give an error as well ?

Does your screen capture file play in Windows Media player ?

What is the complete error message you receive ?

Thank you for your reply. When i tried to insert the .wmv file-which is the file after the end of my screen recording about 3 gb) in timeline appeared a message (attached message.1) and after i click on ''ok'' appeared a bar with ''pre-process status'' i guess tried to mkake the file editable or whatever . But he never complete this process and appeared a message (attached message.2)

can you make a short screen capture - say about 5 minutes - can you play that video
