More details please. Are you opening the program from a desktop icon, double clicking an image file, rightclicking an image file and then choosing Open With Paintshop Pro X6

Is it crashing immediately you open it or only when you load an image, what type of image?

Can you open the program without an image?

If you can can you then create a new document File > New
If so , can you save this and then reload it.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

I recomend to re-install PSP X6.

Some setting go wrong, sometimes and it causes PSP crash.

So
1) uninstall X6
2) do some cleanup of dirs if any remains, but make backup of zour data
3) install X6 + updates (if everything went OK you shall have v16.2.0.20)

Be aware on Windows XP you need around 1GB free memory (2GB in your System) on Windows 7+ at least 1.5GB free memory.

I am getting the same message with the 64 bit. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I can use the 32 bit version, but not the 64 bit. What next can I do?

Hello, sorry for not answering in time and thanks for responding, I was away and was unable to answer. to your question, it happens mostly when I open it from an image, but it also happens sometimes even when I open from a desktop icon and it is unpredictable, it would happen several times in a day and sometimes it would work trouble free. It happens with Raw, jpeg or Tiff. I would be grateful for your help thanking you in anticipation
