Re: sync problem in analog capture
Was VS supplied as the capture programme with the capture card?
If not, use the programmee that came with it to capture, then import the resulting video file into VS for editing.

Re: sync problem in analog capture
Just to expand upon skier-hughes's answer, most capture cards and devices, including TV capture cards, come with their own software. This is usually tweaked by the hardware manufacturer to work with their device. Software made by other manufacturers will usually not work at all or not work properly with the device or card.
Some devices even have older, but tweaked, versions of Video Studio supplied for both capture and editing, but more often than not, there is separate capture software, and the VS supplied is still only used for editing. I don't think VS X6 is supplied with any capture/TV capture cards/devices -- or not as yet -- so am assuming you had already bought X6 separately.
But do as skier-hughes suggested and use the original software supplied with the card to capture the video, then simply open that captured video in X6 for editing. You don't say what you intend to use the captured video for. But try as far as possible to use capture settings which will make producing your intended format easier. For example, if you are intending to produce a DVD from the video, most capture cards will have a setting which either says 'DVD' or at least mpeg-2 (which is the format used on DVDs). If your TV program is an hour or less, you can also set the capture program to use a high capture bitrate of 8000 kbps. This will fit onto a single layer DVD. If the program is longer, then you will need to reduce the bitrate, either in the capture software, or later in VS, to something lower. As a general guide, 90 minutes will use a bitrate of around 6000 kbps, and 2 hours will use around 4000 kbps.
