Deleting folders or images problem

Hi,

This is with asp 2 under xubuntu.

I imported a folder into a catalog and after realizing that I'd prefer these photos in a different catalog, I wanted to delete the entire folder but had so many problems (including crashes and hangs) that I ended up deleting the entire catalog and starting from scratch.

First, when I imported the folder into the wrong catalog, I was able to delete all the photos except 6. These, I couldn't delete no matter what. 5 Of them, I was able to move to a different folder but not delete. The other one, I couldn't even move.

I tried going to the hard drive itself and delete the folders and photos (the physical folder where the raw images live, the folder under the catalog in my home directory, and nothing). Whenever I'd delete the folder from ~/Pictures/Aftershot Pro Catalogs/catalog/asset...., the folder would magically reappear as soon as I'd start aftershot. I tried moving the actual files, folders, you name it and nothing. Throughout the process I also had several hangs and crashes, which added to the aggravation.

The permissions on the 6 problem files were 777, so that wasn't it, but still, there has to be an easier way to get rid of a directory if it becomes corrupt somewhere, as this obviously was the case. At this point, I didn't really lost anything by deleting the entire catalog and starting from scratch, but I cringe at the possibility of this happening once i'm well-invested into aftershot.

Also, what's the appropriate way to backup whatever needs to be backed-up in order to preserve my work in case of a problem?

Someone from ASP should answer the backup question, but if you would backup the settings folder .AfterShotPro and the catalog folder, then you're save, in my opinion. And ofcourse backup the images somewhere as well

About deleting that folder, was it not possible to just move the folder from one catalog to the other? Drag it to the new location?
