RPM installation

Post by valdemarb »

Hello,

ASP 1.2.0.7 works well for me under Mageia OS. Now I wish to upgrade. The 32bit version of 2.0 is very slow and therefore useless - and the 64bit version will not start. I get the following error:

Code: Select all

[valdemar@localhost bin]$ ‎./AfterShotPro2X64
Install Path: /opt/AfterShotPro2(64-bit)
LD_PATH: /opt/AfterShotPro2(64-bit)/lib:
XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS: 1
./AfterShotPro: /opt/AfterShotPro2(64-bit)/lib/libuuid.so.1: no version information available (required by /lib64/libSM.so.6)
Segmentation fault
Seems like ASP is using some old version of libuuid that does not show version info.

Is there somebody that can help me out?

Best regards,
Valdemar

libuuid is not the issue.
I get the same error, but AS continues:

Code: Select all

AfterShotPro2X64
Install Path: /opt/AfterShotPro2(64-bit)
LD_PATH: /opt/AfterShotPro2(64-bit)/lib:
XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS: 1
./AfterShotPro: /opt/AfterShotPro2(64-bit)/lib/libuuid.so.1: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libSM.so.6)
0.0: I have SSE2
0.4: Bibble program arguments ("./AfterShotPro")
0.4: Loading plugins
... and so on ...
Why is 32bit slow? Are you using OpenCL?

cheers

Thanks afx for responding. That unfortunately leaves me with no clue, what is the culprit :( Guess I will have to switch OS to continue with AS.

I have no idea why the 32bit version of 2.0 is running slow. The graphics card is Intel HD Graphics 4000 and it does have OpenCL support.

Thanks,
Valdemar

afx, you got me started on this OpenCL thing. Unfortunately Intel provides no support for Linux, according to this thread https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/402118.

Without OpenCL AS 1.2.0.7 32bit is for me still way faster than the new 2.0 32bit.

Thanks,
Valdemar

Hmm, one thing I noticed on my W7 box is that Wavelet sharpen seems to be even slower on AS2 than on AS1. So check plugins.
And grab the update that was released yesterday.

Ok, I forced it and the patch then overwrote the old AS. Now 2.0.1.5 crashes all the time. Just scrolling thumbnails will make AS terminate.

I give up on AS, but thanks afx for trying to help.

Just wanted to let you know, that I found the culprit for the crashes. AS did not have access to the drive, where the pictures reside.
