I am trying to edit a three camera shoot. I followed the route of putting the videos on three overlay tracks and synchronising them using the flash from a photographer's gun. I then applied the ripple editing lock. Then it was just a matter of splitting the audio from the preferred video and cutting the three video tracks to create the main video on the timeline.
My question is:- Is it possible to mark cut points on the timeline in preparation for the track choice? A preliminary scan of the three videos showed when to change the camera shot but I could not find a way to put a reminder mark on the timeline to follow up with the cuts.

Well I suppose you could add cue points using the cue point manager - or add chapter points which you can actually see and then delete them when your finished, but if you know where you want to cut why not just cut.
I have never actually done a 3 camera shoot but if I did I would do it exactly as I have done 2 camera shoots - start at the beginning and work your way through cutting as you go

Re: Multi camera editing
Its a matter of reviewing the footage to decide which of the three cameras has the best view. The problem is that I forget where I want to change cameras!! so a marker is very useful.BrianCee wrote:Well I suppose you could add cue points using the cue point manager - or add chapter points which you can actually see and then delete them when your finished, but if you know where you want to cut why not just cut.
Just checked out the cue points and they are exactly what I want. Thanks.

Hi Terfyn
In addition to the Cue points you could use a title as an “aide memoir”
Create three titles (track 1) (track 2) and track 3, place them in the library.
When you get to a point to cut the clips to retain say track 2 place that title in the timeline. You can then continue to the next cut position, placing another title.
Returning to your first selection you will know which track is to remain.
Then remember to remove the title.
