Hi there,
I've just started a project using VSPX7 and I've noticed a thin (0.5 mm), sometimes broken, sometimes clean, yellow line appears on the side of a couple of clips when playing a project preview. The line does not appear on the clips when I use the scrubber, only when I play the project preview.
I've tried dragging the corners of the clip past the border where the line appears, but it still shows in playback. Strangely enough it doesn't show every time I do a preview playback, but usually does.
I was wondering if anyone has seen this and knows why it occurs and whether it will still be visible after rendering. At this stage it's only affecting a couple of the clips in the project, but I noticed that after I tried to fix the first clip it appeared on the clip before it as well. These are still the only clips with the problem so far, but it doesn't seem like a good idea to try and alter any others.
I'm working with standard avi clips, in a 4.3 aspect ratio (made with Mpeg Streamclip) using a Windows 8.1 64 bit OS. I've worked in this format previously without this problem using VSPX4 but on a Vista 32 system.

Re: .5mm line on side of some clips in VSP X7
Yes, I got something similar when beta testing X7. But it seems it was a slightly outdated driver for my AMD/CCControl panel video card. The line disappeared when I updated the AMD driver.
Now you give the unhelpful information that your Video Card is "Toshiba". But I am wondering if it too is an AMD card which needs updating. We suggest downloading the free Belarc Adviser which will give probably more info than your ever wanted to know about your computer. But in this case, that information could be important...

Re: .5mm line on side of some clips in VSP X7
Hi Ken,
Thanks for the reply. I've added the extra information about my computer system profile. The model I'm using is TOSHIBA Satellite L50-A PSKLNA-01Q00J.
On further investigation I discovered that removing the 'Advanced De Noise' effect, I had applied to these clips, fixed the problem.
This is interesting because I have the same effect on other clips in the same project and they did not develop the yellow line.
The original source of some clips was standard definition while others were HD. I think it may just be the HD sourced clips that had the problem. I'm starting to wonder if the 'Advanced De Noise' effect has a compatibility issue with HD sourced video clips (even though they were all converted with the same software).

Certainly the problem I had was with high def AVCHD mp4 from my GoPro Hero 3 Black... But I never tested it with standard def video.

I'd be interested to hear what you found, if you test that further.
At least now I have a possible cause now and a work-around that should prevent the problem recurring.
Thank you.
