[assuming you've not done updating to other programs etc. since then; as those other programs will also be reset to their status at the particular restore point chosen]

.MOV from panasonic GH4 that previous crash X7 (before SP1) would generate an error about file format. Still no dice, won't import. The same files work in X6.lifeschool wrote:I experienced a freeze during rendering when using .MOVs from the lastest ipad. 1080p. I converted the files to .mp4.

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
I was successful at installing SP1 on one 64 bit machine and unsuccessful on a 2nd 64 bit machine. It ran for about 3 minutes and ended with error code 34. Basically file corruption. Downloaded a fresh copy of SP1, same results. Uninstalled everything,
re-installed X7 w/o SP1 and I'm back up and running. Ran out of time fussing with this and will comment further when I have time.
Update 06/21/2014 :
Spending a couple days fooling with SP1 has reveled much the same results as other posters have stated. I should have known better than to leap on a first day release of most any product. This is a release that in my estimation was not fully tested with a wide body of platforms and so (we) the end users became the beta testers.
Case in point:
1) on a Gateway DX4300 quad core, Win 7 Home Premium, 64 bit; the SP installed well w/o any adverse affects to basic command functions and expectations.
2) on a Gateway DX4870 i3 core 2, Win 8.1, 64 bit, the SP installed OK but Intermittent audio and video occurred immediately. Audio and video totally out of sync, Sometimes there was no video on the preview pane yet audio would come and go at will.
3) Uninstalled the program & SP, re-installed the program w/o the SP and all is back to normal.
Years ago this would have been a challenge now it's an absolute annoyance. Much too much time wasted on something that should have been straight forward.

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
After a month of using the X7 trial version without problems, I purchased the full version yesterday. After installing SP1, rendering would freeze at certain points with video clips from a Kodak Zi10 video camera (AVC MPEG-4). After 4 interations of complete uninstalls and reinstalls with and without SP1, I concluded that SP1 was the culprit. After the 5th fresh install, I denied the install of the service pack and have been rendering without freezes.
MotionStudio 3D 1.0; Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X7 (w/o sp1) (Download), Corel PaintShop Pro 15.2.0.12 (Download)

How exactly did you uninstall the patch? Did you have to uninstall and reinstall the full VS X7 program? Can a moderator advise?

The quickest method is to carry out a system restore to a date just prior to the patch install; assuming that you haven't done other program updates and installs since then as they will also be reset to their status at the date chosen. However, the windows system restore app normally advises you which programs will be affected by the restore point chosen.sheltiephil wrote:Hi Askani, askani wrote:Uninstalling the patch and re-installing Videostudio X7 fixed my problem.

Have used this method myself to get rid of the ill-conceived SP1.

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
Hi Sonic Fields,
Thank you for replying. Following the advice here, I got rid of Service Pack 1, but there was no System Restore point just prior to installation of the patch, because a Corel pop-up recommending installation of SP1 had appeared as soon as I had installed the initial program. So, without a System Restore point there, uninstallation of the program was no more involved than performing System Restore. In fact, the whole of VideoStudio Pro X7 would have been uninstalled anyway, and looking at the effect on all programs, VideoStudio Pro X6 would have returned, along with a couple more programs that would have to have been uninstalled. So, to put it simply, specifically uninstalling the program looked much more straightforward than System Restore in my case. This turned out well, using Advanced Uninstaller Pro and then CCleaner to clear the registry. Pro X7 is now working well without SP1. This reminds me of the wisdom of checking forums before rushing in with new updates; though, in my case, SP1 had been strongly recommended by a Corel pop-up immediately upon installation of Pro X7. So, I'll keep an eye on the forum for further developments. Meanwhile, enjoying X7.

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
It would appear that SP1 has been pulled from the support site.

The VS X7 SP1 is no longer listed under Updates for VideoStudio - at least I cannot find it either. The latest one is the X^ SP1 update.

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
Not sure where your going for patches - but the place for all patches is :-
http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index.jsp?pgid=800161
The specific SP1 for X7 is still clearly available here :-
http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... 44&popular
which is the same as the link at the top of this topic and for me still works perfectly.
When I go looking for patches via the first link in this post I see the following which leads to all updates and patches.

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
When I followed your link I got the pages I showed in my screen shots. I noticed that that was the US webpage. When I switched to Canada or Germany, I got the correct update pages.
