For the record, the VS X7 original version number is 17.0.0.249. With SP1 it’s 17.1.0.22.

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
I am afraid I have evidence this patch has broken reading .MOV files that load and work perfectly prior to the patch. I have a laptop which I have not updated and t continues to work.
PS a system restore did not fix it, so I wil try re-installing X7

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
Can also confirm this Service Pack 1 causes problems - currently editing a 45min film in full HD (1920x1080p). With the SP1 installed there are no track previews, just similar white blocks as for broken file links for all the various scenes and shots, with the payback monitor being black. Trying to relink files has no effect.
Have tried the SP1 download on two separate occasions with the same results. Restoring the program to its previous version just prior to the patch makes it work perfectly each time, which indicates that Service Pack 1 is flawed!
I will not be updating to SP1 until it has been subject to better testing.

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
Seems to have fixed the problem with .mp4 and .3gp files crashing the program although now I am getting random crashes related to rendering (or "share" as Corel calls it). So far no crashes during rendering just occasionally when switching profiles or from edit to share or share to edit.

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
This may be resulting from the individual's setup. I have just run some 1080p files through X7 with SP1 and they ran without any problem. If it was SP1 that is flawed I would expect to have seen the same problems.Sonic Fields wrote:Can also confirm this Service Pack 1 causes problems - currently editing a 45min film in full HD (1920x1080p). I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
Before patching I was able to make a DVD image, but after the patch it gets stuck while making the image. Two days in a row I have let it go after leaving work and I come back in the morning and the time is still counting but it is stuck.
I just received this message from Corel customer support:
"Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support.
Thank you for letting me know. I have checked our tracker for known issues and determined that your concern is currently being worked on by our Engineering team. I will now transfer this case to them for further investigation.
I appreciate your patience and understanding. Please await their contact."

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
Uninstalling the patch and re-installing Videostudio X7 fixed my problem.

Have you reapplied SP1, or are you running without it?askani wrote:Uninstalling the patch and re-installing Videostudio X7 fixed my problem.

It did this in the released version also...still does and apparently Corel has chosen NOT to address this issue.
Also product patches are not beta tested, although I think they SHOULD be.

Re: Corel VideoStudio X7 Service Pack 1 Released
I experienced a freeze during rendering when using .MOVs from the lastest ipad. 1080p. I converted the files to .mp4.
