I have been playing around with ASP 2 on my MacBook Pro. I realize that I cannot access my Topaz plugins directly since ASP has its own plugin format but I had been used to being able to access the Topaz plugins through the Topaz external app (PhotoFXLab) on my old Windows machine so, when I downloaded and installed ASP 2, I tried to set it up to use the Topaz app as the external editor. For some reason that I don't understand it will not even allow me to set PhotoFXLab up as the external editor. When I select it by browsing ASP 2 refuses to list it as the selected external editor.
I had the latest version of PhotoFXLab but I downloaded it again just in case. No difference. I tried both the 32 and 64 bit versions, but still no difference. For some reason I just don't get ASP 2 will not allow the selection of the Topaz app as an external editor. Interestingly enough it WILL allow me to select the individual Topaz plugin apps as external editors, although trying to call them results in a Topaz crash. But I cannot even select the Topaz stand-alone app as an external editor. To use my Topaz plugins with ASP 2 I have to first call PS and then the individual plugins and that does not seem like a sensible approach.
I tried this (with ASP 2) on the Windows virtual machine I have on my MacBook Pro and there it works just fine. But on the Mac, no help at all. Is this supposed to be a known restriction on the Mac version? Or a bug? Or have others gotten this to work? If this has been addressed earlier I apologize. I looked through the postings but could not find any involving the Topaz app and the Mac.
Thanks.
