[ASP V2] How to customize "F" (full size batch output) ??

Post by Franz Dur »

In ASP one could modify the settings for the batch JPG output elicited by "F".

In ASP2 F prompts for an output folder and saves with standard settings. It is possible to make a new batch preset but how to affect it to "F" ??

I just right-click on the file type (in this case, JPEG Full Size) in the Output library. That brings up Settings... where you can pick your options.

Just modify the queue that is triggered by the shortcut (JPEG Full Size).

Hello afx,

When I modify JPEG Full Size.batch the F disappears from the list in "Export with batch preset". I tried to replace the whole content of JPEG Full Size.batch with the content of the custom preset I made ==> F disappears also!!

By the way, there are several instances of JPEG Full Size.batch (I have ASP2 on drive G:) :

- "C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel AfterShot Pro\supportfiles\defaults\batches\JPEG Full Size.batch" This one is ASP V1
- "C:\Users\francis\AppData\Local\Corel\AfterShot Pro\batches\JPEG Full Size.batch"
- "G:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel AfterShot Pro 2\supportfiles\defaults\batches\JPEG Full Size.batch"

Which one of the 2 last ones is relevant ?

Francis, the stuff from the program directories gets copied over to the user directory when AS finds it missing there at the start. So the only relevant one for you is the one in your user directory.

Can't reproduce that on the Linux box.
Does it also disappear from the Batch Output tab in the Output pane?
What happens if you hit "F" after your changes?
When you write "custom preset" above I assume this is a typo and you meant custom batch queue right?

PS: I think it is an invitation for trouble to mix the user directories for AS1 and AS2. Better create a new one for AS2 and copy relevant stuff over from AS1.

Andreas,

I was referring to the File/Export with batch preset tab. I made a "new batch preset" using the eponymous tab.

But anyway, thanks to your questions, I had a closer look at the JPEG Full Size versions I had in my Corel User folder. And I saw light  there was a line "hotkey= " in my version... With hotkey=F it works fine, my JPGs are send to a relative folder, renamed as I want, etc..

Learned something today, merci

Francis

PS I wonder why Corel offers a 64 bit version. I installed it first and was dismayed by the poor plugin handling, apparently the plugin authors where not equipped in advance with the 64 bits SDK. Without Bez and Gradfilter I felt naked. So I uninstalled and installed the 32 bits version which works just fine and found most of my ASP V1 settings.

Yes, I was wondering if the behaviour was consistent over the various locations where the batch was shown and I think that menu is a new addition in AS2.

On the long run, the 64bit version will be useful (large panos for example). Right now, why bother....
