Further experience with the new ulmp4lib.dll.

It works with 4k file (if renamed to .mov), but does not work with lower resolution .mp4 files.

For that, I need to use the original ulmp4lib.dll file. So I have to keep two versions which I swap in and out of the Corel folder as necessary. A nuisance, but a possible work-around.

Also I find that the sound in the output 4k .mp4 file, though present (Windows Media Player will play it) cannot be read back into VX7 for further editing. VX7 does not see any audio (I cannot split the audio for instance). However, either (1) as part of the original edit, I can output a separate audio file (with all the edits), or extract the audio from the edited file with Audacity, and then recombine the audio file with the video file in later edits. Again, a nuisance (and I need to keep precise track of all the edits to make sure the sound and video always match up), but a possible work-around.

All this is a disincentive to doing much with 4k video. In any case I aim to use it only for critical post-processing and get past the 4k stage as quickly as possible. My final outputs are at much lower resolution.

Many thanks,
Jim.

Hi Jim

Please read this post, a recent hotfix by Corel for X9 may work for X7. Worth a try.....

It seems to work like the last hotfix - same results. Thanks for trying!
