asp2 linux kde - window management complete fail

Post by elguavas »

i'm running 64bit asp2 on debian jessie under kde and none of the main program window management works properly...

they've chosen to implement their own window borders and title bar (unlike asp1, which used the native window borders worked fine) but i cannot move the window by dragging the (faux) titlebar and also the window has no borders to allow for resizing.

also after switching to full screen and back i now find that the asp2 window always opens full screen, no matter how i had it sized and placed before i closed it...

i'm also getting corrupt thumbnails for some images that were fine under asp1, but i guess that'll be a subject for another bug report if i can even get this barely useable by solving the above issues to have a properly manageable program main window.

beginning to regret purchasing this upgrade.

Which is ugly as hell.

Works like any other application with XFCE (Xubuntu 14.04). No issues there....
Granted, the sensitive borders are slim....
also after switching to full screen and back i now find that the asp2 window always opens full screen, no matter how i had it sized and placed before i closed it...
Can't reproduce that on XFCE.

cheers

ok, i took kde completely out of the equation by running asp2 under fluxbox ;) and it behaved exactly the same way. :(

i finally got it working properly again by deleting ~/.config/Corel/Aftershot Pro.conf and re-starting. of course that meant i had to register again too.

i'm a bit dubious about this now, but anyway if anyone searches on a similar problem and finds this thread my workaround is recorded above.

Ah, that was enough to get me going to get me out of the jam (also on KDE).

I changed these two lines to false (they were true):

Code: Select all

FramelessWindow\Maximize=false
FramelessWindow\fullscreen=false
(now, if only I set "FramelessWindow=false" to make it behave properly)
