When I double click a file in Windows Explorer (XP Pro SP3) PSP X insists on opening another different file at the same time! This is usually a file I've previously worked on which has a similar name. I've looked at the settings in order to disable the action but can't find any such "feature". If I delete or move the second file PSP X complains "Unable to open the file". I have searched the forum as well as I could but can't find any answers. Does anyone know a fix for this? Thanks in advance. Dan

Re: PSP X Error Opening files from Windows Explorer
In all cases a quick reset to the default settings could be applied first. This involves holding down the Shift key as you double click the desktop icon to start your PSP. It will ask if you want to reset your program to its defaults. Click Yes to accept. That may cure your extra image opened.

Re: PSP X Error Opening files from Windows Explorer
Hi
. Thanks for the suggestion, which I've tried but it's still happening. I've also reinstalled PSP X, but it still opens two files for one double-clicked in Windows Explorer. i.e. if I go to any folder, double-click on an image (e.g. scan0030), close it, then open another (e.g. scan0020), PSP opens both files. However if I close PSP, then double-click on the file the anomaly doesn't occur. Strange, but frustrating! Regards, Dan

Re: PSP X Error Opening files from Windows Explorer
I don't open files in the way you do as I have multiple versions installed (8,X2,X3,X4,X5,X6) and I prefer to choose which version I want to open at a particular time. So I open the PSP version then the window with the files in and drag the files into the workspace. OR I can Right click a file and then choose which version to open that file in.

Re: PSP X Error Opening files from Windows Explorer
Thats interesting - each version you have has its own forte. That's an idea. Maybe I'll reinstall Version 8. Opening files from Windows Explorer with PSP X does take quite a while and I don't always need its enhanced capabilities. Regards, Dan
