Preset?? Not a copy set?

Use the enclosed copy set.
Just to reinitiate if I want do want WB copied if I have had to alter it but not if it is listed as shot. So As shot is the setting I am copying! 'AS SHOT IS WHAT I AM COPYING!
If you would invest a second to think about it instead of screaming, you would understand that the current behavior is more logical and how to generate a copy set that excludes WB.
I know it a total waste of time even checking back as you basically don't seem to give a toss on your customers views.[/qupte]
Because you're so focused on your frustrations, you might have overlooked that noone form corel has every said anything on this.

It may be more logical to you that a wb is altered even if not checked but to me this seems strange behavior. If I wanted the WB altered I'd alter it then cut and paste. The WB is altered if it is a simple Ctrl C or if it is a profile even if in the profiles case WB is left unchecked - i.e. do not alter.

I have no frustration I've gone back to version 1! Just wasted the cash on an upgrade thats all.

Hello,
Though I read this thread thoroughly, I might not have understood everything correctly. However, here is what I noticed, not sure if this is what the author complains about...
Suppose I have set the WB to Sunny on a picture, then I want to apply this setting to a groups of pictures. I naturally do a Ctrl + Shift + C, which opens the selective copy menu.
I then expand the WB tab, that shows Activate white balance = true and White balance preset = Sunny both checked. Colour temperature, however, remains unchecked, so it's up to me to decide whether or not I want the value to be applied - it may make sense, I think -.
What seems less obvious, is that when I paste the settings to other pictures, instead of being set to Sunny, as expected, they are set to Custom. Which makes no sense to me.
Is that what has been discussed here, or something else ? Can this behaviour be considered as a bug ? Or, may there be some kind of logic there ?
Regards,
J.-L.

What you are hitting is a different issue though triggered by the same implementation of trying to make as shot really copy the WB and not the flag.
Unfortunately the implemented it in the paste phase and not the copy phase leading to some stupid side effects.

Thanks AFX. I understand a little more now.
However... am I allowed to find this quite stupid ?
Because of this, one has to do twice the work when pasting WB values. :(
Even if pasting both WB status (Sunny, in my previous post) and Colour temperature (5019 for Sunny IIRC), then the values aren't correctly set, which is perfectly noticeable : first, the preview doesn't render correct tone, and second, when one clicks on to the WB select button, which dispalys Custom, then the tone reverts to something else than the actual value, even though Custom is still active.
In my case, I pasted Sunny & 5019 as WB & Colour temperature, then I had to browse every picture and manually apply Sunny so the value was correctly set.
Not sure my explanations were clear enough though.
----------- Edit ----------
Maybe this will be a little more clear : I made some tries today, on a batch of 69 files, doing the following :
1- set up White Balance tab to Flash, which turned Temperature to 6099 and Tint to 11. Quite normal.
2- selectively copied / pasted the settings, including Temperature & Tint to all other files, which got White Balance tab set to Custom, while Temperature & Tint cursors displayed the correct values.
3- clicked the first picture which the setting were pasted to, and clicked the WB tab ; just doing this, nothing else, the Temperature & Tint values automatically toggled to 5341 & 0 which, I think, may have been the original values before they were overwritten when pasting the settings in 2).

This also affects presets !
I created a preset so as to set selected pictures to the wanted WB type, but there again it is set as Custom !
Isn't it worth creating a topic in the bug section ?
