Hi there,
When I overlay my footage with a picture, there appears to be many overlay transition effects I can choose. However, how do I choose to NOT have a fancy effect? I just wish to have the picture appear as a whole (not tiled, not as dripping like paint, etc)? There does not appear to be a plain transition option..
Thanks!!

just don't apply any transition - you do not need transitions - just add your picture - nothing else.

Hi
You say “When I overlay my footage with a picture,” what do you mean.
If you are dragging an image over another clip then a transition will be applied as set in Preferences.
If you do not want a transition do not overlap/overlay?
Press F6 on your keyboard or Settings – Preferences.
Choose the edit tab, here you can customise some effects.
The lower panel allows you to choose or disable the auto transition effect.
Deselect “Auto add transition effect”
Adding clips to the timeline will no longer automatically add transitions.
You can of course drag a transition to the timeline to manually add, if you wish.
Whilst you are viewing the Preferences panel check out the other settings, you may find some quite useful.
