i have a Digital camera which takes wonderful .MOV files, but they are really large files. I would like to convert them down to MPEG-4. I click on the Share Tab, select MPEG-4, change the file name and then click on "Start". The computer goes through the motions, but when I go to the directory where tie file location is pointed to, there is nothing there.
I've tried this process on 3 different computers and they all do the same thing. As it process the file, I notice it does create the file, plus two other files which I am assuming one is audio and one is video. None of these files expand past 0KB, so I'm assuming the files are just deleted when it "thinks" it is done converting.
I also read something about quicktime and I have uninstalled quick time and put on an older version of quicktime. 6.5.2 quicktime to be exact, but still it does not compress the file.
Any suggestions? Is there any place I can look for error messages?

Do the mov files play correctly on your computer?
What are the full names of the other 2 files? What are the settings for the mpeg-4 files? There are many flavours for this format, some will create even larger files and others will be heavily compressed.
What make/model of camera?

Re: Cannot Share/Convert a .MOV file from camera
The file name I am trying to create is test.mp4. The other two files created are test_0523_12-32-05.a and test_0523_12-32-5.v.
The profile is: MPEG-4 AVC (1920 x 1080, 30p, 15Mbps)
Properties:
MPEG-4 files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 30fps
Frame based
H.264 High Profile Video: 15000Kbps
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 256 Kbps
I beleive the camera is a Canon EOS 60D.

Re: Cannot Share/Convert a .MOV file from camera
Do the mov files play properly on your computer? What version of VideoStudio are you running?
What are the properties of the mov file?
How large are the mov files, how long in time?
I have a Canon EOS 600D (=T3i) and it also creates mov files. I would think the video" specs would be identical to your files.
I just created an mp4 file with the same properties that you listed from my mov files and had no problems.
