Can't complete some projects

Post by thegrons »

Hello;

I upgraded to Pro X7 thinking it would solve my problem but it didn't, I notice that if I add a lot of fancy transitions I can only process the slide show 81%. Is this due to not enough RAM in my computer? I have 4 gb of RAM with a Pentium 3gb quad core Anthelon processor. I have had some success by sharing on the lowest settings the project I am working on has about 22 photos about 5 gb each in size.

Any help?

Thanks,

John

Hi John

Welcome to the forums

You should be able to render the project completely. 100%
If you are getting to 81% then I would suspect something in the timeline at that point.
Check the timeline content.

Adding effects and transitions will slow the render process but it should complete.
What you render to also has an effect on render times.

What are you trying to create, a video for the web or a dvd/bluray disc?

By the way 5gb for an image size is very large, is that a typo, would that be 5mb

Yes they are 5mg I also was able to push the project through once I changed a few of the transitions it was having trouble getting by a certain transition so I swapped it out for a different one and got it done?

Thanks!

Which transition(s) are giving you the problem?

It seems like it is different ones, the one where the slide goes spinning off into the black outer space...it seems as though the project is so big with 100 mg of slides that once it hits a certain slide if the flowing transition is too complicated it stops. I also downloaded the program on to my other computer that has twice the RAM and faster processor thinking maybe that is the problem?

I notice that in your specs it says your hard drive capacity is 100Gb. That can't be correct or ?

100Mb ( not mg) of slides is not very much and is a rather small project. So there is something else going on with your project. How long in time is your slideshow?

You still have not answered Trevor's question on what you are trying to create. The more information you give on what you are trying to do and exactly what you are doing the easier it is for someone to help you. Why not give the name of the transition instead of posting a "generic" description like "slide goes spinning off into the black outer space"?

Sorry about the generics I am not in front of the computer that has the program on it.

I am now getting an error saying that the file might be rights protected and it won't let me finish the project?

What file is rights protected? One of the photo files that your are using? Are they all photos that you have taken?

BTW, your signature says you have 100Gb so if you have 2TB you might want to correct that detail

In my opinion using "fancy transitions" makes the project look rather "gimmicky". After all your main object is to show the property and not be distracted by fancy extras.

The saved project files, I put them in a folder that I can share on my home group with Windows 7 and now these project files I can open them but when I go to share it says these are protected and I can't share?

I even tried to make a new project and I saved it as a project and went to share as MPEG and it said file might be right protected. Could this be because I have the program on two computers in my home?

Could you please explain exactly step by step what you are doing and what is happening. You are posting the same thing over and over again but not giving any useful information in order to help you.

Hi

Sharing the files used in your project via your home network could cause problems, the security and permissions for the folders may need tweaking.

You are best to create a Smart Package of your project, save to USB memory stick.
Then simply plug the stick into the other pc, you will probably receive a re-link request.

Your Youtube sample shows the video playing in a 16:9 frame, this creates a black border left and right, If you resize the images to use 16:9 then that would remove the black borders and probably look nicer. I would use the same transition for all images.

The render problem (pausing at 81%) may be caused by the different image sizes and the wrong transition, not that that has been reported before, I would have to do a test to confirm that.

But as I say resize the images to use 16:9 ratio.
1920 x 1080 image size should do the trick.

Trevor,

all of a sudden I am getting the same "file might be right protected" message as thegrons when I select "start" to create a video file. It does not matter what type of video file I am trying to create.

I am using VS X7 64bit and creating a timelapse slideshow. Yesterday everything worked fine. The pictures I am using are from my Canon T3i which I took just this morning. (the camera settings are slightly different from yesterdays shoot). I also save the X7 project as a X6 project and had no problem in X6 to create the video file. All photo files and the project file are on my main hard drive so there is no networking involved.

I am going to have to do some debugging to see what is happening.

PS. I discovered what caused my ""file might be right protected"" problem. As I said, yesterday VS X7 worked fine and today it gave me the above problem. In between I had installed Boris FX. I uninstalled Boris and everything is working fine again.

Hi
Sorry for the delay in replying, just been a little busy……..

So far I am not having any problems in using Jpeg images. The images are on my pc and not networked, I don’t know if my workgroup sharing folders will cause any problems, not ventured that far.

I have BorisFX installed along with the other ProDad stuff.
