I am very new to VS9.0 and Video Editing. I understand the option to add titles to clips, but what I want to do is insert titles between clips.
What I want is
( Clip #1 ) ( Title #1 ) ( Clip #2 )
I do not want
( Title #1 / Clip #1 )
How do I do this? It isn't clear from the manual or help menu.
Thanks
Titles Between Clips

Anthony...you have several options. One option is to put a color clip inbetween clip 1 and clip 2. Now you have clip 1 -color clip -clip2.
You can then put you title onto the color clip, and then if you want to get a little more creative put in transition between the clips. If you do not want a color clip between clip 1 and clip 2. Just add your title to clip 1 and drag the title in the title track between clip 1 and clip 2. You can make you title fade in and out. I am sure the guys and gals of this board have a lot of other suggestions for you.

Right. A color clip will default to a 3 second duration, as seen in the time box at the upper left. If your title takes more than 3 seconds to read, you can click on the 3 and type in another number.
Then click on your title (in the title track) and change the duration of that, too.
If you have animated your title -- for example the titles move up and off the top of the screen, like movie credits -- then they will move at a different rate depending on how much time you have given them to appear. If they move too fast, give them a few more seconds.
Don't forget to lengthen the color clip to accommodate the title. It's all adjustable.

Keith - the colour block will only default to 3 seconds if that is what you have set in "Preferences" - you can set any time you like as a default.
Anthony - you seem to be under a slight mis-apprehension, you do not add a title to a clip, you add titles in your project - and they can be put anywhere at all - after a scene , before a scene, over a scene if you like.
