I just started a trial for the first time, and the program asks me were to place the .aftershotpro folder and the catalog folder.
It says that the settings folder can become rather big, so I should choose a disk with sufficient space. But how much space is that?
I have a data disk with more than enough space, hundreds of Gb, but it's a normal SATA disk.
I also have a SSD drive (my /home directory) which has about 30Gb left.
Where to place the folders?
I'm using Linux.
Size of the settings folder and catalog folders?

Your user folder holds the cache. If you can, put it on an SSD with a few spare GB...
It can be moved later on if needed.

Re: Size of the settings folder and catalog folders?
Just wondering what folder you meant when you said 'Your user folder holds the cache. If you can, put it on an SSD with a few spare GB...'
I'm working on Linux and my .AfterShotPro settings folder is on a fast SSD disk, but I was wondering how big the Aftershot Pro Catalog folder can become which is now on a 1Tb disk? Because if I understand correctly that folder will hold all the category info, metadata info and thumbnails?
I already have something like 2Tb of images I want to import into ASP during the coming months.

Perfect for the cache, the ~/.AfterShotPro folder is the default location for the user folder.Kneops wrote:Just wondering what folder you meant when you said 'Your user folder holds the cache. If you can, put it on an SSD with a few spare GB...'

Size of the cache is governed by the preferences settings.
No idea really, I as I only use small throwaway catalogs for specific tasks but not for really managing my images.but I was wondering how big the Aftershot Pro Catalog folder can become which is now on a 1Tb disk?
