Any Happy Users of 64-bit VideoStudio Ultimate X7?

Post by mrbobbell »

I've just purchased the upgrade of VideoStudio Ultimate X7 through the Corel site using a coupon code for a very nice discount. My choice now is whether to install the 32-bit or 64-bit version.

I've read a number of messages in this forum from users who were disappointed by some deficiency or another in the 64-bit version. My question is: Are there any actual happy users of the 64-bit version reading this board?

I realize that my experience may vary from other users, but I'd be wise just to install the 32-bit version if no one has yet had a positive experience with the 64-bit version.

Sincere Thanks in advance for your invaluable input,

Bob Bell

Maybe I've missed something, but I haven't seen any/many posts distinctly complaining about 64bit.
I'm happily using it with windows 8.1.

I'll go with that. My version of X7 is run on a Windows 7 64bit OpSys. and gives very little problem. I have had minor glitches which I have now overcome. Whether 64 bit X7 is faster I would debate but a 20 minute video = time for1 cup of tea to render. So IMO there is little wrong with the 64 bit version for what I want to do.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

I too would have to say the X7 x64 performs well on both Win 8.1 Pro and Win 7. I have read the threads concerning poor rendering times, and have to confess I have not run any tests of my own in this regard because I find nothing wrong with the rendering times for my own projects (either HDV or AVCHD these days, and occasionally a mix of the two). It may be that I am easily pleased or my projects aren't too complicated. But like Graham and Terfyn above, I find the program more than suitable for my needs.

So far I have had no problems with the 64 bit version. My version of X7 Ultimate is run both on a Windows 7 64 bit desktop and a laptop with I7 series processors, NVidia graphic cards and have had no problems. How much faster 64 bit X7 is up for debate ...

Can you give any more information about this coupon code and the discount?
Thanks,

I have sent a PM to Barry that I hope answers his question about the current discount/sale on VS X7 Ultimate. I'll provide the same info to anyone who sends me a PM.

Sincere thanks to all of the forum members who have taken time to share their 64-bit VS X7 Ultimate experiences with me.

I will attempt to install 64-bit version on my PC and only downgrade to the 32-bit version if I have a horrible experience and it becomes absolutely necessary.
