Problem Trying to Register PI10 - Can anyone advise ????

Post by GGsTags »

HI,
this is my first post to this board - and wouldn't you know it's a Problem type post.
Ug !
I am Trying to Register my New On-Line upgrade with ULead but every time I click on the 'About' to find my serial # - the bar with the Help in it grays out and I'm stuck with Having to Cntrl/Alt/Delete to close PI all together !
Everything Else is working Perfectly so I'm not wanting to re-install (although I do have the 'On Demand' CD-Rom (but have no Idea how to make best use of the darn thing - Is is a Back Up or is it the Entire PI10 on disc???)

So that's really two questions at once I suppose ...
Is there Anywhere else I can find my Serial # / Technical # (for Downloads ) :?:
and second ...
What is the 'On Demand' CD-Rom Exactly :?:
Hope Someone can help me out here ...
Hugs for now,
GG

If you also installed either The PI Photo Album., or Gif Animator you should look under Help\About and see if the Serial Number is displayed in either of these programs. If not you can contact the point of purchase, here is what Ulead says:

Q: Where is the serial number?
A: For the Full Retail & Upgrade Versions: The serial number should be included with the registration material. Alternatively, the serial number is sometimes located on a sticker affixed to the back of the CD case or package.
You can also check the About Ulead... dialog box in the Help menu for the serial number.
For Hardware Bundled Versions:Please check the About Ulead... dialog box in the Help menu for the serial number.
If you still cannot find the serial number, it may already be embedded in the program’s installation or may not have been shipped with the product. If that is the case, when you register, our system will accept your serial number field leaving blank.

If you know how to use the Registry Editor, you can find you Serial Number here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ulead Systems\Ulead PhotoImpact\10.0\installer\Serial Number\???????????????????

Be forewarned if you damage the Registry your OS may not work!!

The “On Demand CD” is just that, some features were not installed during download, but the CD contains that uninstalled extra content. When you click on an object, you may be asked to “Insert the CD” to get additional content.

Hi keenart, How did I know I'd be able to sort it in the Registry !
We have a rule in this house - when it comes to the Registry
" Don't Go There!"
LOL
So I'm stuck as I can't access the 'About' section of help and that's almost certainly a fault in my XP (don't you just Lurv XP ... Not !).
I'll check and see if I have either of the two progammes you talk about - I just downloaded the upgrade and am not sure but THINK they MIGHT be on the CD On Demand (?) ...
Meanwhile, back to the Drawing Board as they say ... Or Not as is the case as far as Registering is concerned.
