Took a look at the Olympus and Fuji cameras supported. Sheesh!

Olympus
E-1, E-3, E-5, E-10, E-20, E-30, E-300, E-400, E-410, E-420, E-450, E-500, E-510, E-520, E-600, E-620, E-P1, E-P2, E-P3, E-PL1, E-PL1s, E-PL2, E-PL3, E-PM1 C5050z, C5060wz, C7070wz, C8080wz, OM-D E-M5, SP-310, SP-320, SP-350, SP-500uz, SP-510uz, SP-550uz, XZ-1, E-M1, PEN E-P5, Stylus 1

That's IT! LOTS of OLD cameras! Do you see the E-M5 or the E-M10? (The E-M10 is probably the most popular camera Olympus has produced in a while and I believe the E-M5 has been out around a year now, maybe longer. Only a little bit newer than the E-M1.) What is crazy is that PSP X6 raw lab supports both the E-M5 and the E-M10.

Fuji
X100 That's it, not the X100s, not the X20, not the X Pro 1, not the X-M1, or the X-E1 or the X-E2. These are NOT new cameras that caught Corel by surprise. They've been around a while.

Sounds like the same old batsh-t crazy Corel foolishness to me. And I bet we have to wait a year or more before we get a camera support upgrade to get a FEW of these cameras supported.

US$ 60?! I was expecting that, given the support I gave to ASP when it was first introduced, we had a bigger discount on this - not that Corel deserved my support after all. Seems that Corel thinks ASP 1 is not their own product, since the upgrade prices for Bibble v5 and ASP1 are the same. And Bibble v4 users have been left on the cold. At least they preserved Linux support, phew.

As for camera support, I don't see A77mkII available. Perhaps in 2017 it appears, but I'm not holding my breath. :? OTOH, at least A7 and A7R are supported.

Finally, the funniest part is about 64-bit plugins: "Many of your favorite AfterShot Pro plugins are currently being ported to 64-bit by the volunteers who make them. Check back frequently for updates." I wonder if the original plugin developers still bother supporting (for free!) a product which has not seen an update for so long time. If the original plugins are not ported, then the 64-bit edition will have much less value for me, since that I rely on plugins to get my photos processed (Nostalgia, zPerspector and Wavelet Sharpen come immediately to mind).

You probably isntalled the 64bit version of AS and still only have the 32bit plugin.
It will take a while until all plugins are available in 64bit.
I strongly suggest working with the 32bit version until then.

While I too am disappointed at the lack of Fuji X support, I am not surprised. My understanding is that the x-trans cameras are not just another camera, they're a major new development. Even the old Bibble Labs staff once said that they'd never do it. I wonder whether they'd say the same now, given the traction that the X-T1 is getting, although the absolute number of x-trans cameras is still relatively small. But the point is that it's a major new chunk of code. Adobe struggled with it and they still haven't got it right. Given the continuing criticism of Adobe vs other converters, it's probably not worth doing unless they can do it better than Adobe did. I'm not holding my breath.

Well, I've done mine for 64-bit and tintin has done his. I don't know when they'll be made available. Some of kbarni's now come packaged with ASP and the others are in progress. Not sure about the other developers.

This is great! The one I shall really miss, if it isn't re-done for 64-bit, is the Graduated ND filter. In fact, it will hold me on the 32-bit version (as long as that runs) until it it is re-done or replaced. I would be happy to pay for another copy, if that helped Roger Barnes to make the right decision!

ASP has had support for Oly's E-M5 long before LightRoom did.
Those were the times ... ;-/

Hmm. Can anyone tell me where I can download ASP 2.0 for windows? I've tried the link on aftershotpro.com (windows version), but it seems to lead to the bad old 1.2.0.7.

Never mind, found it on the English page, the German one isn't completely up-to-date yet.

It is really hard to do X-Trans right, Adobe still sucks at it according to the pixel peepers....
All the X-Trans users I know that want top image quality use LightZone and PictureNinja (even if they own PS/LR).

I've had a discussion with Greg about the Fuji X-Trans sensor and I think it is only a matter of time (might be long) before they support it. The key question here is, how are the initial pipeline stages married to Bayer? The further on in the pipeline Bayer is assumed, the harder it gets.
So I know they want support for it, but it seems to be rather hard.

To sum up, what's new in this major release?

- 64bit version
- HDR but only for Windows at the moment
- Red Eyes correction
- Local Contrast
- Different Noise treatment
- Some more cameras support

Anything else?

I'm not going to pay 60$ for these features... :|

As long as you don't have a new cam that is not supported in the old release, I see no strong reason to switch.
On the other hand, how about downloading the trial and testing it out?

Yes Picture Code have put a lot of work in with Photo Ninja in regards to the XTrans sensor. Photo Ninja along with Iridient and Capture One Pro 7 are very popular with XTrans users.

I was amazed to see an email in my inbox today announcing ASP2! I'll take a look at it but I'm not expecting much. I always try any new Raw converter just out of interest. I think Aperture is the only one I've never tried.

All plugins seem to work (problem with zFrame - color - nothing happens - pick color works) except GradFilter Pro (ubuntu)
Did someone notice this too?
