When I click on the "share" tab to render a product, I get an error message that reads "Encountered an improper argument." Consequently, I am unable to render videos with this version of the program. This has arisen recently. I had successfully completed a number of projects prior to this.
I have tried reinstalling the program. This has not worked.
Fortunately I am still able to use version X6.
My operating system is Windows 7 Professional (64 bit). It is up-to-date as far as I can determine.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

It would help if you told us the Properties of the video you are editing, and what format you are wanting to output to. To find the Properties, right click on a clip (or clips if various formats are in use) in the VS timeline, and either take a screen grab of the Properties box and Upload it here, or else copy it out manually and post it here.
