HELP PLEASE - PSPX6 won't start after Window's Updates
Hello
Running Win 7 - PSP X6 - Only installed 32 bit version of PSP
The program runs fine until Windows does it's update then it will not start when the icon is clicked.
To get it to start, it is uninstalled and then reinstalled. Then, it works fine until the next Window's update.
Hope you can help.

Re: HELP PLEASE - PSPX6 won't start after Window's Updates
Download the Clean Tool from above and use it to uninstall PSPX6. Reboot system and install again. This time use the Recommended installation 32 and 64bit.

Re: HELP PLEASE - PSPX6 won't start after Window's Updates
Sorry I have the same problem with 32 bit version after latest Windows update message reads as attached;trueblue wrote:Download the Clean Tool from above and use it to uninstall PSPX6. Reboot system and install again. This time use the Recommended installation 32 and 64bit.
64 bit version works fine.
I have tried reinstalling from disc but it seems to be trying to uninstall 64 bit version, gets as far 'uninstalling third party software and then just hangs.
There is no option that I can find of just installing 32 bit version. Only installation on disc is PSP6_PF exe
Where is the link you refer to to download Clean Tool "from above"

Thank you very much indeed, my old eyes aren't what they were.
I have now got an even more baffling problem.
After downloading and running the Clean Up Tool I was able to reinstall both the 64 bit and the 32 bit versions PaintShop Pro from my original purchased download.
When the new install first started it automatically checked for updates and downloaded SP2, this I installed.
Now when I start up it wants to install SP1 then reports 'Failure due to Fatal Error'
Do I now have to uninstall yet again, install SP1 and then SP2?
If not how do I stop SP1 update wanting to run?

Thank you for taking the time to reply. While waiting for a response, we had already used the "clean" tool and then reinstalled both versions and the problem seems to be fixed now.
Great forum here
Thanks again.

This is indeed a baffling one! Regrettably, I can only say to use the Clean Tool again. Reboot your PC then install PSPX6 as you did previously.2Pen+1 wrote:MarkZ

Obviously something may have gone wrong with the updates (sp2.) I wish I could offer more help.
I'm glad to hear you are all fixed up Katey.

Re: HELP PLEASE - PSPX6 won't start after Window's Updates
I offer the same advice to you about using the clean tool. Reboot your system and reinstall. When prompted, use the Recommended installation for PSPX6 and that is 32 and 64bit versions.2Pen+1 wrote:Sorry I have the same problem with 32 bit version after latest Windows update message reads as attached;trueblue wrote:Download the Clean Tool from above and use it to uninstall PSPX6. Re: HELP PLEASE - PSPX6 won't start after Window's Updates
Thanks to all who helped with this problem.
I ran Clean Up Tool & rebooted.
Instead of using original purchased download I downloaded trial > installed > Reg # > installed Ultimate extras
This time installed & works OK
Regards

It seems that it is quite often necessary to clear the cache before PSP X6 will open. This is a real pain as all the settings have to be repeated. Hopefully Corel will fix this issue in the next release.
thanks so much for all the help!!!
