In order to apply a drop shadow to the entire image you will need to work with layers. It looks like you had a plain white background layer and then added your photo as the top layer and then used the pick tool to scale the photo to make it smaller than the plain white background layer. Now you can apply the drop shadow to the photo.

I may be able to help with some of what you are trying to achieve.
- go to menu/selections and select all
- select the pick tool. There should be nodes showing at the corners of the photo. Move the corner and rotate etc. as you wish.
- you now have a "promoted layer"
- in the layers palette or from the menu/layers select create new layer/raster
- ensure the new layer is selected and it is below the promoted layer. Flood fill with the colour you want as a background.
- select the promoted layer and either right click on the layer and select properties or from the menu select layers/properties.
- select the tab "Layer Styles" and click on the Drop Shadow box at the bottom.
- The boxes to the right allow you to select the colour of the shadow and the tool that looks like a joy stick allows the extent and direction of the shadow. You can move the joystick or enter x and y values. For what you are doing, the x and y values will be very small, the light is almost overhead. Adjust the colour of the shadow to taste.
I hope this helps. Zycze powodzenia.

Thanks Mark for your suggestions. The problem is I don't have such a tab "Layer styles" in the properties window.
By the way, maybe it's not the shadow effect, but some protruding effect in the corners of layer?

Did you right-click on the image in the layer's palette to select properties? If so, you should have a layers style tab in the properties dialog box.
Also, you could try Effects -> Image Effects -> Page Curl to see if that gives you want you are looking for.

According to Suz page :
http://suzsplace.com/tips&tricks/vi-tips001020.htm
"Layer styles were introduced in PSP X2. "
and the OP is using PSPX.
As has already been mentioned he needs the smaller image on a larger white canvas and then can apply Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow.
This should be available in PSP X as it was there in PSP8.

OK, but how to make shadow only in the corner? Drop shadow effect makes shadow on the whole edge.

Each of the drop shadows (the Effects > 3D Effects) and the Layer Style drop shadow show a flat image raised from a surface and a drop shadow along two edges which is natural for that.
Your image shows part of a drop shadow at the right bottom - very faint, and a deeper and larger shadow at the bottom left and side as if the image / photo has been partially lifted from a surface so that the left hand bottom edge is further away from the background than the right hand edge.
This can be done by using Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow and place the shadow on a new layer.
Than work on the shadow layer to erase the shadow with a very soft eraser. Click and use the Shift key to erase in a line.
These images may show the way:

Interestingly if you look at this link:
http://puzzles.nigelcoldwell.co.uk/twentyeight.htm
(my website)
The page curl effect is created in CSS. The actual question box is not reshaped, it's still got straight edges. The effect is created by a drop shadow from two hidden parallelograms.
