Hi, I have a kind of special problem: The computer with a Realtek ALC 982 sound chip is linked to a Harman Kardon surround sound receiver via SPDIF.
When I'm using the Realtek testing tool, sounds will come from every channel, but when I'm using VideoStudio it does not work - the sound is always stereo instead of 5.1.
The video project is in surround sound and when I render the project, burn it on a DVD and play it on the Harman Kardon itself, the surround sound is there.
Does anyone have an explanation for that? I'm afraid I know too little about the codecs etc. to find a solution on Google.
Thanks
Jan

Re: 5.1 sound seems not to work
You did not mention what version you have,so it is assumed your version of VS does support 5.1.In project properties-project options box-Corel VS tab-did you select "Multi channel surround sound" in the audio channel field. Also in the compression tab of the options box under audio settings did you select Dolby Digital Audio in the format field and in the audio type field did you select 3/2LCRSLSR and an audio bit rate of 384 ?
