Unable to open file, file format mismatch

Post by eltonvon »

Hi,
I recently bought a JVC ProHD GY-HM150U. It has three formats video: MOV, MP4, and AVI. When I input MOV file to Corel Video Studio Pro X4, X5, and X7, the clip only has audio but no video. When I input MP4 file to Corel Video studio x5, x7, it says, unable to open file, file format mismatch. AVI format works well but it does not meet my resolution expectation. Attached please find the screen shot for the problem. Can you please help me out? Thank you.

Please do not upload attachments as Word.docx documents - these documents can contain viruses and it is not right to expect users to download potential problem documents in order to help you - please use jpeg or png

Thank you.

As a Pro camcorder, JVC state it uses JVC's proprietary codec, so you need to ensure you have installed that.
Then see if VS can pick up the codec to use.

If not, JVC also say, but of course these editing apps are Professional ones.........
For users of all major NLE systems, including solutions from Adobe, Avid, Grass Valley, Vegas and Apple, the GY-HM150U supports the MP4 file format, which can be brought into your editing system without re-encoding.

This is what you might need to do to get it into VS, which is only a consumer app.
HDV-compatible M2T files can also be created from these MP4 files using the ProHD Clip Manager (Version 1.1).
