Error Message Burning MF4

Post by caton_phil »

Hi!
I am suddenly getting an error when burning in MF4. The burn starts and does approx 1/3 of the disc and then gives error message DVDR-DAO-SPTI-2A-02-02-30-05. Says something about device/disk may have problems!!
Any ideas?

What's the burner model and the disc brand?

Have you applied the 4.01 update pack of DMF from http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf_ftp.htm ?

Hope this helps.

I hadn't got the update but have installed it now!! I am using Datasafe 8x discs and the burner is a Liteon SOHW 1213S (and I have the latest firmware!).
I did also delete the Ulead data add some time ago when I had been having problems.
I haven't tried burning a disc since installing the update so will keep posted!

NO! Still not working.
What happens is: The MF4 gets to the point of burning disc. It then behaves strange as the top bar is fully blue saying burn 100 % and the bottom progress bar doesn't do anything. The burn is obviously in progress but then stops. First error message is; The target device might have some problems. Please try again or reboot. I press the OK button and get: Failed to burn data to the disc Error (0x8004145D) DVDR-DAO-SPJI-2A-02-02-30-05.
I press OK on this and then get the same squence of boxes again!!!

I have just copied a DVD in my burner using Nero without problems!!

UNTIL TODAY!!!!
Now, same problem again!!!!!! Slightly different error message.
It says "Internal error (0x0000FFFF) DVDR-DAO-SPJI-2A-02-02-30-05. "
Does anyone know what is going on here???? I have done a whole load of DVD's with NO problem up to this point. I would guess that there is a conflict here with something but I have tried uninstalling the applications I had installed. Most recent was a Camera manager that came with an Aiptek mini cam.

Ah, I've got just the same problem and couldn't find out any info till I found this forum.

I've got MF 4 Disc Creator (trial version). I've got a RICOH DVD+RW MP5240 DVD burner on a PC. Last night I tried to burn an AVI file that was on my hard drive, that I'd downloaded from the net. It did the converting bit (took ages), but on the burn section, I got the "target device may have problems (57130" message, clicked ok and got the "failed to record data to the disc error DVD+R-SPTI-2A-02-04-91-C4". I tried with both a DVD+R disc and a DVD+RW disc and got exactly the same message with both.
No one seems to have given Phil an answer, but here's hoping we can get this fixed. I'm trying out the product as it was recommended, but unless I can find out what the problem is, I'm not tempted to buy it.
I can use Nero to burn data to DVD+RW discs, haven't tried with the AVI.
Please help :)

Hi! Kat.
I have had no reply here and struggle along trying to find the answer myself.
It would appear to be some kind of a software conflict that affects the burner. I uninstalled and reinstalled Moviefactory 4 which sorted the problem for a while. But I have been installing other software recently, ie bought a digital camera so needed to load the programme for that and also updated VideoReDo, and this seems to affect things. I had the same problem again yesterday, although slightly different, most of the disc burned and I got a slightly different error message. But this after installing new software so I rebooted the computer and have burned two DVD's OK! since.
So, the only thing I can suggest is, uninstall and reinstall MF and try again!
