Hi all, i am new here and looking for advice.
Does anyone have experience of moving Videostudio X7 from old pc to a new one.(license issues???).
I have been on the Corel main website and it seems to infer that you have to pay about £20 for assistance but i'm not sure as the website info seems very vague. I find this a bit hard to believe as most other software vendors supply an "uninstall" script that effectively removes your license and puts it license back into your account so you can install it on new hardware.
I own a boxed version of Videostudio x7 ultimate with DVD's which at present i have not yet installed on my pc as i am currently running a trial version which runs out in a few days. I will be upgrading my hardware towards the end of June so will be wanting to migrate my license to the new hardware then.
I am loathed to install my x7 on my present hardware right now in case i incur unreasonable unwanted costs / difficulty in migration later.
Any advice / clarification would be very helpful. Thanks.

Hi
Welcome to the forums
For Video Studio the EULA allows you to install the program on one pc—at a time.
You can uninstall the program and re-install on another computer. I think the limitation is associated with a licensing agreement, maybe with Digital Dolby.
Uninstall the trial version first before attempting to install the full version.
When you first run the program you will be prompted to register, if you have registered other products you will have a Corel account, you would only have to provide the e-mail address to your Corel account. registration allows access to the Corel Guide and starts the free support period.
There are some issues accessing the Corel Guide that have been recently reported.
Hopefully you wont have any problems.

Re: Move Videostudio x7 ultimate to new PC
I have just moved my copy of VideoStudio X7 Ultimate to a new computer within the last month - my previous PC failed dramatically and I could not do anything with it so a new PC was necessary. So as far as any records which Corel hold it is still installed on my old computer.
as Trevor says remove the trial version first.
I had a completely clean computer and a copy of the downloaded programme - I simply transferred that to the new machine and ran it - after install I registered it again with absolutely no problem.
Can I also just explain that although Trevor and myself are admins on this Corel Forum - we do not work for Corel or get any special dispensations so our registrations are just the same as every other VideoStudio user.
