Can VideoStudio compensate for flourescent light banding

Post by df »

Ok, so the short story here is that I'm a newb still to video. I shot inside with fluorescent lighting at a shutter speed faster than the cycle time of the lighting (1/125th to 1/200th of a second). I didn't realize I'd get this banding. http://youtu.be/81DZzvx56ss
I've googled the problem and won't do that again. The clips at 1/60th look fine.

My question is can VS compensate for this? If not I'm ok with that. It's the first time shooting video in a long time.

edit: Not sure what I'm doing wrong with the youtube tag.

You do not need to use the youtube tags to post a youtube link - just post the link - I have edited your post and the link is now clickable.

your video is very short and sweet but maybe my old eyes are failing - but what is wrong with it ?

I was expecting to see a flicker of some sorts, is it the yellowish shadow across the table that is causing concern

No I do not think Video Studio can filter that out.

Yep, that yellow/brown banding is what I'm seeing in the faster shutter speed clips (most of them unfortunately). Like I said it's my own fault and I haven't seen anything else that can fix it. It is what it is.

Thanks for the responses.
