Group video, titles, audio and overlay tracks

Post by Vspx7 »

Hi,

When I insert a 30 sec. video clip in the middle of an existing project, the subsequent video clips are pushed 30 sec., but the overlay tracks, titles and audio tracks stays in the same time spot.

Is there an easy way to insert a video clip so that the following tracks (Video, audio, title and overlay)are all pushed correspondingly?

Is there a group-function?

Thank you in advance.

Yes there is - it is called 'Ripple Editing' - check your user guide

It is activated by clicking on the padlocks to lock them at the left end of the timeline - see image below

Hi

The process is called Ripple Editing

You can turn this on from the padlock icons left of timeline, top padlock turns on/off
The others select the timelines to be used.

Hi Lata and BrianCee.

Thanks. Ripple editing works fine with the overlay and audio tracks, however it doesn’t have any effect on either of the 2 title tracks.

I’ve tested it with 2 title tracks - one locked and one unlocked, but both stayed in the same time slot.

I’ve also tried to move the title tracks to an overlay track, without any result.

Do you have any suggestions?

Something appears to be wrong in your setup - the title tracks have padlocks and if locked should "ripple" as do the overlay tracks.

Also you should be able to slide titles up into any overlay track - what happens when you try just sliding the titles up using your mouse.

Hi

Sorry but that seems to work ok for me, I don’t really know what you are doing differently.
You may have problems where the program may want to remove associated clips, but it does give you a warning, I simply turn off Ripple and do it manually.

Can you create a short project using the library samples, attach the VSP to your post.

Brian may have ideas on what you are doing?
