Hi Anna
Thanks for the feedback, very happy that “alexs3” solution has worked for you.
And again thank you Alex3.
Hopefully all other users having a similar problem will now apply the fix.

I am happy for you Anna,
In my case I tried but it did not work. If I delete the "Message"folder, when I click on the Orange icon Videostudio registration window does not open anymore!
In my case I have also Videostudio X6 installed and it is working perfectly, I don't know if this is influencing the way X7 behaves!
Cheers
Bruno

This method is worked for me, too!
1. From the control panel windows set to default settings the Internet Explorer
2. In Internet Explorer settings add properties to trusted hosts http://www.corel.com, iws.corel.com, apps.corel.com, corel.com. For trusted sites allow all ActiveX launch options.
3. Clear the cooke and cache in Internet Explorer.
4. For Windows 7. Remove the all files in the SystemDrive:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Messages (Example c:\Users\Poll\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Messages)
Thank you!

You don't delete the folder, delete the contents of the folder, if you have deleted the folder, create a new one named "Messages"brunob wrote:I am happy for you Anna,

Re: Videostudio X7 Registration Issues - Corel Guide access
This is just to inform you that finally I resolved my issue by....installing X7 clean on a new computer! What happened is that at a certain point of the investigation Corel Support suggested to me to remove a old Windows Update that could have interfered. After I did it, the computer died (the hard disk partition was lost!). Having restarted clean (really clean, just from the new Windows 7!), the installation went OK and I could sign-in. My impression is that the issue was due to the existing version of X6 on my previous computer. When I installed X7 it asked me if I wanted to import the library from X6 and I say yes. I realised later, going through the Messages folder, that X7 also imported the Bonus package where the X6 registration was included! I guess this could have created the problem when trying to register (sign-in) the X7 version.

Re: Videostudio X7 Registration Issues - Corel Guide access
Dears,
If you encountered the problem with the blank registration page, then please do below steps to fix:
1. Run "Check for update"
2. Close the application and launch it again
Then, this issue should be able to be resolved.
The root cause for this issue is because the online content isn't being published correctly. We have fixed it from server and via above steps, it can fix this problem.
Thanks,
Yvonne

Re: Videostudio X7 Registration Issues - Corel Guide access
I'm suffering the same problem too, but with X8 (trial). I've tried all the suggestions in this thread, but still get the blank window after entering my email address.
I suspect that a previous installation of Ulead VideoStudio 11 is interfering—even though I uninstalled that prior to installing the X8 trial. The reason I suspect this is that, when I use Alt+backarrow in the blank window, I get to an old corel web page that mentions 11.
I've searched through the registry looking for 'videostudio', but all the references seem to apply to X8. Perhaps X8 is picking up something from a folder used by 11 (although that would seem odd).
I don't have the confidence to risk buying X8 if I won't be able to register it.
Any further suggestions would be most welcome!

Re: Videostudio X7 Registration Issues - Corel Guide access
Further to my previous, if I click 'Register' without entering an email address, the window (which would otherwise go blank) loads the following page:

(This is a composite image, pasted together using Paintshop Pro X7—which works perfectly.)
This page really looks defunct. If anyone knows where the VS X8 installer might be picking it up from, I might be able to find and remove the offending vestige from my computer.

Since you already have PaintShop then you have an account on the Corel website - have you tried logging in to that and choosing "Register a New Product "

Re: Videostudio X7 Registration Issues - Corel Guide access
Thanks for the reply, Brian! When I try that, the web site asks me for the product's serial number. Since I'm only running the trial version so far, I don't have any paperwork with the serial number, and because I can't start the program, I can't see its serial number in the help menu. It's a chicken-or-the-egg.
I'm scared to buy the program just to get a serial number in case I still can't enter it into the program due to the blank window.
I should also mention that I receive a 'thank you for registering' email from Corel whenever I go past the panel where you enter your email address. I've got 38 such emails now. Despite that, the next panel never loads and the web site doesn't indicate any registration (for the trial version or any other).

Re: Videostudio X7 Registration Issues - Corel Guide access
Can you use the programme apart from accessing the Corel guide - some people find that that does not populate until a couple of days after you use the programme
