How to start VideoStudio trial?

Post by cheers »

Installed the x7 trial on windows 8.1 64bit. Seemed to install fine with no errors and had no updates to download. When I try to start the program by double clicking the desktop icon, a window opens labelled Corel VideoStudio and it has a large grey icon with black writing that says VideoStudio X7 on a white background. What next? How do I make the program start?

Very strange I cannot see where that image is coming from in VideoStudio - it is not something I recognise at all, when you click on the desktop icon you should see a splash screen which I believe in the trial shows a bicycle stunt rider and then VideoStudio opens.

maybe you have a corrupt download have you tried un-installing then downloading again and a new install from the new download.

I have this same exact problem. The white window is likely the splash screen you are referring to BrianCee. I tried installing a month ago, and then again yesterday, on a Win7Pro machine with plenty of everything and then today on a Win8, that while not as robust is still adequate. No problem running Nero Platinum on the Win7 so I would expect VS to work on it. Not interested in going through hoops reconfiguring my machine to try this product

Its not the splash screen which has a bike on it. Its about the same size but is white with just the logo at the top. I tried downloading the trial again (this time from the free trials section above) and interestingly this trial was only about 750Mb instead of the 1.8Mb trial I downloaded originally from the other link on the site. Uninstalled then reinstalled which all worked fine without any errors but then when I run the program, same thing.

I think its something to do with the trial rego not starting correctly as when I paid and installed the full version, it all works perfect. I wonder how many others have had this and just assumed it wont run on their machine - probably an expensive error on Corel's part.

I solved the problem of the white box. Solution is:
1. From the control panel windows set to default settings the Internet Explorer
2. In Internet Explorer settings add properties to trusted hosts http://www.corel.com, iws.corel.com, apps.corel.com, corel.com. For trusted sites allow all ActiveX launch options.
3. Clear the cooke and cache in Internet Explorer.
4. For Windows 7. Remove the all files in the SystemDrive:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Messages (Example c:\Users\Poll\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Messages)

re-run VideoStudio and use.

I don't understand your post. Are you having a problem? The link you posted refers to this thread so it tells us nothing.
