I am considering buying Paint Shop Pro X6 -- preferrably digital rather than disc -- but I was wondering about the limit of activations.
I upgrade my PC occasionally and I don't want this to be an issue. Can anyone confirm the activation limit on PSP X6? Retail vs. download?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Paint Shop Pro X6 activation limit?
I don't know what the actual limit might be, though from other posts here, there does seem to be one. All I can say is that I have (re)installed PSP, in various versions, several times each on the same computer and have never had to reactivate. And I don't think that is because of my status as Site Admin. (The EULA moreover allows users to install it on up to three computers, though you are only supposed to use it on one at a time.)
From what other users have posted here, when they have had to reactivate, it appears to have always been quite a simple matter of contacting Corel, with activation occurring immediately. Hopefully, someone with more first hand experience will soon also respond.

Re: Paint Shop Pro X6 activation limit?
Not since version 13 I haven't.
When you run out of reactivations, I'm thinking six or seven possibly, you can contact Corel and they'll up it.
Also, the physical disc version doesn't have any activation worries. Or at least it didn't, I don't know if they changed this with X6 or not. It's the reason I'll only buy physical versions. I just haven't had to buy PSP for a few years.

Re: Paint Shop Pro X6 activation limit?
Thank you for your insight. But there is one common phrase I observed between your responses that I have trouble with: "contact Corel."
I have had nothing but nightmares trying to establish contact with Corel on a completely seperate issue. If I were to seek their assistance regarding an activation issue, how would I avoid 1) being redirected to a phone number in Canada, 2) paying a hefty support ticket, 3) having to wait three business days for them to resolve that ticket before I can use my fully-paid for registered product, and/or 4) wandering aimlessly for three minutes through a series of menus?
Honestly, that's what I've dealt with before. Just looking for insight in case this should happen. Once again, I prefer to buy a digital copy over a CD (because it seems as though that's how we're progressing).
Thanks again!

Re: Paint Shop Pro X6 activation limit?
Personally, as far as Corel is concerned, I think of downloads as regressing. It prevents us from "owning" the software as we have to rely on the company to say "okay we'll let you use it." Buying the physical takes longer but also doesn't touch my data limit and you don't have to talk to Corel. Again, assuming they haven't changed something.
I can't give you any real hints on avoiding Corel. Some recommendations have been to contact them on Twitter or their Facebook page because it's incentive for them to fix any issues rather than face public bad press. But that's honestly a ridiculous cheat to get around poor support policies.

Re: Paint Shop Pro X6 activation limit?
Corel UK confirm installation limit of 'Boxed' DVD Paint Shop Pro X6 Ultimate software is 5 but lower for the download version (they didn't say what the actual download limit was as my question was about the boxed 'dvd' version). For information, the UK Support telephone number is 0800 048 8984 but be prepared to wait a considerable length of time for a reply. I got through just before 5.00 pm but never at other times during the day. At least it's a Freephone 0800 number from the UK.
