Hello,
since rel. 13.10 Ubuntu does not provide the comatibility package ia32-libs any more.
Aftershot Pro depends on this package.
I think we need an update from Corel to get Aftershot Pro 64Bit working under Ubuntu Linux 13.10 and 14.04 LTS.
Aftershot 64 and Ubuntu >= 13.10

Just install the 32bit version as the 64bit workaround is no longer needed.

Thank you. That works after installing a few required 32 bit libs.afx wrote:Just install the 32bit version as the 64bit workaround is no longer needed.
But, Corel, should the amd64 version not be operational from scratch under 64 bit Linux?

Re: Aftershot 64 and Ubuntu >= 13.10
Well, the 64bit version was created to automatically handle some dependencies for previous releases of Ubuntu and other Debian based distros as most users would be lost understanding what is needed to install a 32bit package in a 64bit OS. Now that Ubuntu makes this all easier the 64bit package is obsolete.
I guess that will all be cleared up pretty soon if they keep the date mentioned on facebook.

Re: Aftershot 64 and Ubuntu >= 13.10
That means Aftershot never has been a 64 bit application? I did not try to find it out myself. Let's hope we don't need more than 2G of memory while working with photos.afx wrote:Well, the 64bit version was created to automatically handle some dependencies for previous releases of Ubuntu and other Debian based distros as most users would be lost understanding what is needed to install a 32bit package in a 64bit OS. Can you tell me more since I don't have a facebook account?I guess that will all be cleared up pretty soon if they keep the date mentioned on facebook.

Yup, AS was never a 64bit version.jochen-02 wrote:That means Aftershot never has been a 64 bit application? I did not try to find it out myself. Let's hope we don't need more than 2G of memory while working with photos.
Unless you run into a leak (which does happen with AS unfortuantely), 2GB is plenty for basic raw files. It only becomes an issue with huge stitched images.
Me neither, but it was referenced here in the forum and the page is actually visible without an id: https://www.facebook.com/CorelAfterShotProCan you tell me more since I don't have a facebook account?I guess that will all be cleared up pretty soon if they keep the date mentioned on facebook.
