Possibly an incorrect installation. I know on the disc version there are the indeo codecs there; explore the CD itself. If it's the downloaded version I can't comment, but you should be getting the codecs.

I had the same problem after I installed the XP service pack2. Found and downloaded a freeware codec and all is fine now.

Hi
The Indeo driver is part of the installation disc.

Run Video Studio installation disc.
From the splash screen select ‘install utilities’

Have a look at the read me file.
Look at no 3 as below.

Intel Indeo 5.0 - This is the codec for creating or playing .AVI files in QuickTime. You should install Intel Indeo 5.0 or above to be able to use the style templates in the Ulead VideoStudio Movie Wizard.

hope this helps

No there shouldn't, but as I got the physical disc version that's all I can comment on. As Trevor Andrew said, the codecs are on the CD.

For the download version, all I can suggest is to try reinstalling - maybe the codec didn't install properly.

You can find the latest drivers for UVS from http://www.ulead.com/store/vs/runme.htm , they are DirectX, QuickTime, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer and Indeo.

Hope this helps.

htchien,
When users follow your link, they pass thru the Ulead site and end up at the Ligos site where they can either buy the Indeo codec for 14.95 (just to view the few video samples provided by Ulead with Video Studio) or are refered back to Ulead as follows:

"If you have been referred to this page by a pop-up message or a third-party software provider (for a game or other multimedia product), and are not certain that you require Indeo to make your software work, please contact the original manufacturer. We cannot support or answer questions regarding third party software or hardware. In addition, as Indeo XP is a downloadable product, we do not offer refunds once the purchase has been made. Please see the section on Sales Policies for additional information and to get assistance."

All in all, this Indeo business is "Much ado about nothing." Who needs it?

You can get an free v5.1.1 download of Indeo CODEC from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Lig ... _Codec.htm .

The version of Indeo CODEC for sell is v5.2 and later.

As Ligos stated in their web site, "With the September 2002 update to Windows XP (known as Service Pack 1), Microsoft suspended distribution of the Indeo codecs as a base part of its operating system. This only affects users with new PCs that are shipping with Windows XP Service Pack 1, or clean installs of Windows XP SP1 on an older system. Unfortunately, a number of game and multimedia titles require Indeo to be installed on the OS in order to function." I think you can use the free Indeo CODEC for this problem.

Hope this helps.
