VideoStudio Pro X7 or Pinnacle studio 17

I have always used Pinnacle Studio and recently I bought Studio 17 to use on my new PC. This programm however is very uinstable and crashes every few minutes when I am working with it; even while editing short snips. I am concidering to buy Corel VideoStudio Pro x7. It this a better programm than pinnacle, or is it the same, because as I believe pinnacle is also a Corel product

Pinnacle Studio 17 and VideoStudio X7 are completely different programs although both are in the Corel family (Roxio is also part of Corel). Which one is better is usually a personal opinion and often a matter of familiarity with the program. Each program will have features that the other lacks and so it is difficult to apply the "better" label.

I would think that if you are having problems with Pinnacle then you may also have problems with VS X7 since "instability" problems are often related to the users system. It will of course depend a lot on what you are doing, your source videos, etc.

BTW, W8.1 is also often mentioned by users who are having problems (and not only those using VS X7)

My experience of Pinnacle from 5-15 has that the software is very buggy. I bought a new computer and loaded 15 on to it - it soon locked up. That was when I changed to VideoStudio and have run from X5 to X7 with very few problems. I cannot speak for Pinnacle 16 & 17
