Multiple problems VS X7

Post by Luna Esterhuizen »

From all the version upgrades VSX7 is the one upgrade with the least differences. I just completed my first project and though the major problem I had is discussed in the another post under Pixelating video footage when panning.

I experienced the following:

The programme crashed a few times while working. - That was something I experienced with version X4 and not in the later two versions.

While using the proxy manager I was not able to start editing my footage until all the files were done.- I'm used to the function since I'd done Full HD projects since 2011, I could start organizing the clips even if the proxy process was still busy. Now I have to wait.

Corel claims that you can gain from a 64bit platform. I could not see any improvement what so ever. Everything was slower and even the rendering time did not change.

The save option when exiting from the "share" is strange thought you will get used to it.

I am very disappointed that I did not download and used the trial before I bought it. :( :?

Hope there will be fixes to come very shortly

Regards

I can totally understand your disappointment. Since I noticed you have a very capable PC, I suggest you don't use Proxy, and use the 32bit version (that's what I do and I'm reasonable satisfied with X7)... Al

I have the same problems. I can sometime import 25 video clips in my library. I insert same in the track. It seem to work fine. I save the project
Next I want to import a new video clips. Boom It crash and lost my project.

I did the same thing with Pro X6 and there are no problem.

I just downloaded 64bit today - have had multiple APPCRASH - and the uipp.dll seems to be the source of the crash - literally started on the first attempt to insert media file (a mp4 file) I have V X6 and works fine 32bit - was hoping the upgrade to a true 64bit version would work but still no joy - have reloaded and used the Cleanup tool - still no help - was a $79 upgrade but so far money down the drain - V X6 still installed and works fine - SAD

Welcome to my world! I have exactly the setup as you and am experiencing the same problem.
Windows log always reporting uipp.dll as source of problem. I can only assume that the "ui" prefix as a naming convention on the dll describes it as "User Interface"
If it is User Interface then I would assume it has to do with the Graphics Card/Driver. If this is the case then I assume it has to do with 64bit acceleration harnessing the graphics card.
I have been corresponding with the Corel Support team now for about two weeks and after numerous suggestions from them haven't been able to resolve the problem.

A waste of money indeed if a resolution to this is not found.
Very disappointing.
