Hi all,
I installed the new VSx7 and had no problems however when I open the program typically within a few minutes I get an error message; " windows has encountered a problem and must close the program". I previously had VSx6 installed and had no problems with it. I am running Vista 64 bit and thought maybe it was my computer that was causing the issue so I installed the program on my husbands computer which is Windows 7 and the same issue happened on his. I have sent an audit of my computer to support to try and figure out what the problem is but have not heard anything back from them so far; thought maybe someone on here could help.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks!

Re: Problem running VSx7 after install
Did you purchase the disk or was it a download?
Either way try downloading the "try before you buy" version of X7 from the website and see if it will run instead of installing what you already have.
Just to rule out a bad file burn on the disk or perhaps a bad original download.
But first do a complete uninstall. I would try using a free program called revouninstaller (Google it).
It will remove pretty much all entire traces of the program (unlike the programs uninstall utility).
Then also try the free CCleaner and have it check your registry and clean it up before installing.

Re: Problem running VSx7 after install
Thank you for the info; I bought the disc because I was having trouble downloading it. I bought the program download from Amazon and it took over two days because of lost connections (never did finish downloading) constantly so Amazon was kind enough to refund my money for the download and I purchased the disc instead. So I'm afraid that trying to download the trial version is going to be a problem; however, I will follow up on your advice on making sure my uninstall is complete as I have removed the program from my computer.
Thanks again for your help!!

Re: Problem running VSx7 after install
Hi
First can you try copying the entire disc content to your hard drive, then try installing from those files.
As far as I know the download version is smaller than the purchased version although will be fully functioning. Size about 1.2Gb. Compared with 2Gb+
So may be worth downloading just to see if it works ok.
You cannot use your discs serial number to activate the download version, not unless Corel have changed things. The disc serial number can only be used for the disc installation.

Re: Problem running VSx7 after install
I have the same problem. I install it also on two computers one with windows 7 pro and one with windows 8.1.
I also install the 32 bits version with the same problem.
I have the same error or sometime it is just crashing without the error message.
I import many video clips in my library, it is working fine for a while. If I try to import another clip, it is crashing.
I try the same procedure with VideoStudio Pro x6 with no problem.
Thanks
Roger
