Photos to fill screen
All the photo slideshows I make do not fill the screen and there's quite a large black area around them. How can I make them fill more of the screen? Thanks

Re: Photos to fill screen
Hi
A HD video frame uses 16:9 widescreen, your project properties should be set to use 16:9 not 4:3.
That ratio should be also used to create your images, they will then fill the screen.
If you change the background colour from F6 Preferences to any colour you will see the actual video frame.
Adding an image should fill that frame, any black showing is simply unused portions of that preview screen.
Tell us how big your images are, the pixel dimensions, right click a clip in the timeline and choose properties what are the width and height.?

Re: Photos to fill screen
Hi, The width and height of most of them is W3648 and H2736. Do I have to change the dimensions of the pictures first? How would I do this? Thanks

Re: Photos to fill screen
Hi
Using a calculator you can work out that your images are 4 x 3.
One option is to create a 4:3 ratio video not widescreen 16:9
Go to Settings and deselect 16:9 Widescreen, this will set the preview screen to use 4:3, your images will fill the screen.
If you wish to create a widescreen 16:9 video then you will be best to edit your images using an image editor. Or next time set the camera to take widescreen.
Using Video Studio.
For widescreen 16:9,
You can however use Video Studio to resize the images by using the overlay tracks.
Whichever way you choose you will lose detail top and bottom.
With the first image selected on the timeline----Right click the image on the preview screen, Fit to Screen, then repeat for Keep Aspect Ratio, nudge the image up/down for best view. Keyboard arrow keys.
Editing in top track……….
To re-size on the top track, double click the image to open the options panel, (below Library) Attributes tab, Distort ,, then right click preview screen for Fit to screen, and keep aspect ratio, again nudge the image up down..
Once you have set the first image, right click on timeline clip, copy attributes, Shift + Right click last image to select all—right click for Paste Attributes. All images resized.
Hope that makes sense
By the way what version of video studio are you using?

Re: Photos to fill screen
I'm using version 7, but the slideshow was originally created in version 4.
